developed by wotton community sports foundation
Wotton Community PARC has been managed and developed by Wotton Community Sports Foundation (WCSF) since 2000 to provide sports and leisure facilities to Wotton and the surrounding villages. We are a registered independent charity (1121349) and receive no public funding.
Our beautiful 38-acre site features two all-weather sports pitches, a skate park and BMX track, a grass rugby pitch, 2 junior grass football pitches, a jogging trail, a sensory garden and orchard. It is home to Wotton Hockey Club, Wotton Rovers Football Club junior section, Wotton Rugby Club, Wotton parkrun, Kingswood Forest School, 7,000 newly planted native trees, and a wealth of wildlife and flowers.
This website is where you can keep up-to-date with the latest news, support our vision to develop the site further and find out more about the facilities and activities available to you at the PARC.

PLEASE NOTE: To ensure that the PARC remains safe, clean and accessible to all, we have a No Dog policy – as we are all volunteers, there is no one to clear the PARC. We greatly appreciate your understanding.

The King’s Award for Volunteer Service, a symbol of excellence in community service, was conferred upon the Wotton Community Sports Foundation on 14th November 2023, highlighting the pivotal role it plays in enriching the communities of Wotton-under-Edge, Charfield, Kingswood and surrounding areas.
Through its management of Wotton Community PARC, a 38-acre community funded recreational estate, WCSF has played a crucial role in building a strong community ethos, providing an inclusive and dynamic environment for a variety of local sporting activities and recreational initiatives.
The bestowal of this award is a wonderful tribute to the dedication and team effort of WCSF’s trustees and volunteers that spans many years.

parkrun
If you visit the PARC at 9am on a Saturday morning you will witness Wotton parkrun taking place; featuring around 70 local and tourist parkrunners completing the 5km course. With a team of 20 volunteers making sure the event runs smoothly each week it is great fun. Tourists to the parkrun have come from as far as South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
The running trail is mainly off-road with some gravel tracks and during the winter months it can become quite muddy, so trail shoes are advised. The trail is available throughout the year and if you fancy getting involved in the weekly parkrun, then click below for further details.

Dr Kath Curtis Hayward
I’ve been involved with the community PARC for over three years since helping to plant the community orchard and have since been involved with the development of the Sensory Garden and various tree planting schemes.
I have been delighted to take part in many events at the PARC from dancing and singing at traditional Wassails to learning to weave a willow ‘fedge’ or helping children explore the worlds of mini beasts.
As a GP I am very aware of the importance to people’s physical and mental health of such community gatherings and being outside in nature.
The PARC provides a beautiful open space for everyone, and recent developments, such as the Sensory Garden, will increase its attraction and accessibility for both young and old.

We’ve lived in Wotton for the last 13 years, our four kids (now teenagers) have benefitted massively from Wotton Community Parc.
They have developed football, running and scooting skills that have enabled them individually to compete at a local, regional and national level in various sports.
Tree planting and gardening sessions have given them the opportunity to give back to the PARC too. We’re really grateful for this brilliant community resource.

Heightened by all our lockdown experiences, getting out in to nature & guarding our well-being has never been more prescient.
The PARC project – in all its developing, inclusive & all-age variety – is steadily growing in to a valued space, and restorative escape, for the community it serves.
